Cancun

Cancun is a very big town by the sea compared to Playa del Carmen with big hotels by the beach. Everything is huge, buildings, shopping malls, big avenues, big waves, nothing is within the walking distance but there are public buses that drive around the hotel zone to the Cancun Downtown. I didn't like Cancun as much as Playa del Carmen.
The place that i found nice in Cancun was the El Rey Mayan ruins at the 17th km of the hotel zone. There were any iguanas walking around the site, often popped up from a hole in the ruin stones.

There was a great restaurant in Cancun hotel zone called Natura, in front of Senor Frog.
Food was delicious especially the fajitas de pollo. The burritoes were nice too.

Yokdzonot Cenote

One of the things you can not miss when travelling to Playa del Carmen is the Cenotes.
This one was small therefore wasn't full of scuba divers like the Dos Ojos Cenote.
You can only swim in this Cenote. The water is cooler than the sea, about 20°C, quite refreshing after a long walk under the sun.
There was a tiny restaurant serving Maya traditional food, everything was delicious.

Tortilla clear soup with tomatoes, onion and spices.

Back to Playa del Carmen, the beach was deserted that day,
the sky was cloudy, it was quite windy,
the only brave swimmers were the birds.

Izamal

After Chichen Itza, i have visited this colorful city of Izamal, a quiet town with orange walls and a maya ruin inside the city. The Spanish church is the main attraction of the city.
The local market was very interesting with exotic fruits, drinks and food.
